This training will provide participants with current and up to date information in relation to The National Alcohol Strategy. Participants will also build on their existing   knowledge, skills and ability. The course will add to how they respond and refer clients to appropriate treatment services

  •                  Statistical and current  youth and adult drinking populations  
  •                  Social implications of Alcohol  and related concerns    
  •                 Assessment , Screening and  treatment interventions
  •                  Current  service provisions and  good practice

  What are the learning outcomes?

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • To have an understanding of  the Governments National Alcohol Strategy and relevant implications to treatment provision         
  • Develop an awareness of  up to date trends  locally, regionally, Nationally and world-wide in relation to alcohol consumption
  • To   understand the differing range of consequences of alcohol use and  misuse  
  • To identify and differentiate assessment and screening tools in treating and identifying alcohol use and misuse.
  • To  identify a broad range of alcohol service providers and explore evaluated  good practice

This units above relate to he Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standards which specify the standards of performance that people in the drugs and alcohol field should be working to.
