Benefits of attending
This one day training course is open to all professionals who have attended the 'introduction to Mental Health Workshop' or who have a good knowledge base of the different types/classifications of mental illness
Course Objectives
- To Increase partcipants' knowledge and skills in mental health practice
- To increase participants confidence in working more effectively with clients with mental health problems
Course Outline
By the end of this course participants will be able to understand:
- Key principles of a mental health assessment, including undertaking mental state exams
- Physical, psychological and social aspects of mental health
- The revised Mental Health Act 2008and key amendments .
- Evidence based interventions for key mental health conditions, including pharmacological interventions
